The Lalbenque 2 x 100-km race
4 horses from Le Barthas at the start
4 horses at the finish

CEI*** - Lalbenque, November 3 and 4, 2007

142 horses were at the start of this CEI*** race on November 3.
67 horses successfully completed the 2-day race.

All four of the Le Barthas horses: Lima du Barthas, Kartum du Barthas, Glinka du Barthas and Higgin du Barthas, were among the first 40 to successfully finish the race!
A great performance – what a pity Lima du Barthas lost a shoe on the 2nd day and so became separated from the group leading the race.


CEN** - Virac October 20, 2007

Lasko du Clos ridden by our friend Cécile Demierre came 9th on this ride. Thanks to them both for this fine accomplishment! Without forgetting Sham Charca, sired by Djin Lotois, ridden by Rémi Faucher who also ran a fine race coming 7th over the same course.

Nin, sired by Djin Lotois, ridden by our friend Virginia Popper ran a superb race, ranking "Elite". Congratulations to his happy owners.

Naiade du Croate also took part in this competition and was categorised as "Very Good".

After covering the first laps at a considered pace with a view to preparing for the 7-8 year olds World Championship at Compiègne, Laziz du Barthas (Djin Lotois x Une Fois by Persik) ridden by Jean-Philippe Francès and Li Yang du Griffoul (Djin Lotois x Maryon) ridden by Charles Cappeau finished the last loop at speeds of 25.88 kmh and 25 kmh respectively.

Qualifying race for the 7-8 year olds World Championship

Laymon du Barthas (Djin Lotois x Strada par Sirroco Sky) ridden by Charles Cappeau and Orpin des Roches (Kerbella x Djana par El Sham) ridden by Jean-Philippe Francès both qualify as "Elite". What a pity that Sham Charca (Djin Lotois x Sham Fahara), for administrative reasons, didn’t start the 160 km ride also held at Saint Galmier.

After going round the course as a team with the two other French guest riders, Denoura du Barthas finished at an average speed of 17.68 kmh in an excellent metabolic condition (49 bpm heart rate 9 minutes after crossing the finishing line).

Our warmest thanks to the rider, Pascale Dietsch, who was able at the last minute to ride Denoura, and to the fine crew: Erwan, Marie-Laure and Régis, for their efficiency and good-naturedness!
